A COVID-19 update from Ballance

24 April 2020

Moving to Alert Level 3

A big shout-out to all the farmers and growers keeping the country’s food production going, we are proud to be supporting you while the nation is under lockdown. We thought it was timely to provide you with an update as we move to Alert Level 3 next week.

Customer visits

Under Alert Level 3, our nutrient specialists will continue to be available via video chats, phone, and email. Please contact your nutrient specialist or our Customer Services team on 0800 222 090 for any advice or support.

On a case-by-case basis, our nutrient specialists, will be able to complete a soil test or crop inspection on farm, following strict hygiene protocols to make sure we are all keeping a safe distance. However, in most cases, in-person soil testing and crop inspections will take place once we enter Alert Level 2.

Give your local nutrient specialist a call if you need support on how to self-test your soil or if you’d like a crop inspection via video consultation.

Keeping it local

Our local manufacturing plants will continue to supply product to our network of stores nationwide. On the ground our teams are working closely, under strict hygiene and safety practices, with our merchants and spreaders to get product to where it’s needed.

Super Air

The last few weeks have been busy for our aerial top-dressing team at Super Air, as they continue to support customers with their Autumn fertiliser application. It’s great to see our investment in our high-capacity fleet being put to good use, with our new aircraft in Rotorua and Taupo getting plenty of air time. We recently welcomed the team from Rural Air Services in Feilding into the Super Air fold, so we’ve got your aerial spreading needs well covered in the North Island.

Our thoughts are with those involved in the terrible topdressing accident that happened in the Wairarapa this morning. We provided support on the ground this morning and will continue to do what we can to support the company involved. The top-dressing community is small, and any accident hits home hard.

SealesWinslow

Our Technical Sales Reps (TSR) are available to discuss your farm plans and provide nutritional support by phone, 0800 287 325, or email, sales@sealeswinslow.co.nz. On-farm support will be on a case-by-case basis following a conversation with your TSR.

We are seeing strong demand for feed as many of you manage increased stock levels on farm. Our manufacturing team continue to work to safe practice protocols, which means it can take a little longer to produce and dispatch orders. Our focus is on providing a steady supply of custom feed solutions across the country, especially as we head into calving season.

MyBallance

In this new world of contactless orders and delivery, our online platform MyBallance is proving to be a helpful and valuable tool for our farmers. The platform supports online orders 24/7 using a smartphone, tablet, or computer, and provides farmers with soil tests, order history and fertiliser recommendations. It just takes a few minutes to register and activate your account and have your farm at your fingertips.

Thanks for your support and continued custom over these past few weeks. Please contact us if you have any questions. Stay safe, look after yourselves and each other, and keep up the hand washing!

Together we will stop the spread.
