This year’s NZ Co-op Awards was an acknowledgement and celebration of Ballance Agri-Nutrients (Ballance) longtime and former CEO, Mark Wynne, who was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.
This award was a recognition of Mark’s outstanding career and his contributions to co-operatives and the broader agricultural sector. With a consistent commitment to driving performance, and prioritising customer needs in every decision, Mark has ensured the co-operative remains relevant and adaptable to the industry's needs. From driving sector innovation and establishing decarbonisation projects to producing numerous on-farm products that support farmers' and growers' needs and being a trusted agricultural leader, these are just some of the reasons why he received a lifetime achievement award.
On the night of the awards ceremony, Wynne expressed his gratitude for the industry-wide recognition of his career.
Duncan Coull, Ballance Chair, commended Mark for his dedication to the sector. "His leadership within the cooperative model has been outstanding. I’m pleased to see Mark recognised for his considerable contribution to the sector.
”Ruby Sealey-Lawson, another high-achiever from the Ballance team, was a finalist in this year’s Emerging Leader category.
“We couldn’t be prouder of Ruby and all her success so far in her career. At just 24 years old, Ruby has proven her commitment to the agriculture sector through her drive to improve the environment - she has a bright future ahead,” said Duncan.
For Ballance, the NZ Co-op Awards are a great way to celebrate the significant contribution that co-operatives play in driving innovation, performance, and leadership within the wider economic framework of our economy.
