Environmental regulations 1 year on: special edition
Farmers and growers across New Zealand have been making changes to comply with new environmental policies. This second special edition of Grow provides an update and information about ways the sector is responding to the Zero Carbon, Freshwater, and National Policy Statement for Indigenous Biodiversity regulations.
We understand the challenges farmers and growers face juggling many priorities including food production, maintaining animal welfare and protecting the environment. We are well-placed, with many options to support our customers to successfully farm and thrive, within the parameters of the new regulations.
All the changes may seem daunting; however, the food and fibres sector has demonstrated many times, its resilience and ability to adapt, always striving to support New Zealand’s reputation as an environmentally friendly and sustainable food producer. Working together remains the key.
