Our Culture and Values

Ballance employs more than 700 people and their roles cover a wide range of skills.

From manufacturing and marketing to research and sales, we have a common purpose –supporting New Zealand’s agricultural sector to reach peak performance. We share common values – courage, credibility and capability – which represent what we stand for and guide our decisions and our behaviour.

We stand for honesty and integrity, keeping our promises, delivering on results and our commitments, while doing our jobs well.

Because together, that makes our co-operative succeed.

Training is always a priority. Our customers and shareholders expect nothing but the best, most accurate advice and products.

We invest in ongoing training for our field staff, ensuring their knowledge keeps pace with rapid developments in soil science and animal nutrition and we provide them with the backing of a highly skilled technical team.

Our leadership team is highly skilled and combines the depth and breadth of commercial and scientific experience to manage a thriving, farmer-owned cooperative.

We strive to make our operations a safe place for both staff and visitors and we are committed to a zero injury rate. Attention to safety has earned us the highest level of ACC accreditation.
