A COVID-19 update from Ballance

14 May 2020

Working with you at Alert Level-2

As the country enters Alert Level-2 today, it may not feel too different for farmers and growers across NZ who have continued to keep our food supply going, something we are very grateful to you for. The coming months will show just how critical the primary industry is for New Zealand’s economic future.

Over the next few days, life will start to take on a more familiar rhythm with kids preparing to head back to school next week and a few more visitors coming through the farm gate. It has been promising to see strong sales over Autumn, as farms began to recover from the drought, and many have worked hard to manage extra stock on farm.

Farm visits

Our nutrient specialists are looking forward to hitting the road and catching up with you over the coming weeks.

The team will continue with their video chats, phone and email contact, but with more flexibility under Level-2 guidelines. We will be making on-farm visits to catch up on soil testing, crop inspections and to help you with your annual fertiliser and farm environment plans.

We will follow strict hygiene and distancing protocols, and your nutrient specialist will call ahead to arrange any on-farm visits before dropping in.

Our Super Air team have continued to be busy throughout Autumn. With a full fleet of aircraft available for any late autumn fertiliser needs, including those strategic nitrogen applications to support strong spring growth, the team are on hand to support customers with their aerial top-dressing requirements.

Our online platform MyBallance gives customers 24/7 access to soil tests, orders and fertiliser recommendations – you can register and activate your account here. And our Ballance Customer Services team continues to be available on 0800 222 090 or email customerservices-mount@ballance.co.nz.

Feed needs

Our SealesWinslow feed mills have been manufacturing throughout the lockdown and have a good supply of product on hand to support customers through the peak calving season. Our TSRs are looking forward to restarting farm visits and, like our nutrient specialist team, will be calling ahead in advance.

If you’d like to make an appointment, give your local TSR a call or contact our SealesWinslow customer service team on 0800 287 325.

With duck shooting season given the go ahead for 23 May, it seems timely to wish you luck as you head off to your maimai and favourite hunting grounds with friends and family next weekend.

Thanks again for your support as we’ve continued to adapt to the Covid-19 alert level restrictions. Please contact us if you have any questions. Stay safe!
