Ballance farmers elect von dadelszen for ward b

Ballance Agri-Nutrients farmer shareholders have elected Sarah von Dadelszen as their new Ward B director.

Mrs von Dadelszen brings a wealth of agricultural knowledge to the role with a mix of practical farming experience and specialist education and training.

David Peacocke, Ballance Chairman said he was pleased to have von Dadelszen join the board of directors.

We had a record number of candidates for the Ward B election and the solid voter turnout shows that the co-op is in good heart, with farmers taking an active role in who represents them on the board.

The fact that Sarah attracted more than 25 per cent of the vote reflects the strong support Ward B shareholders have given her,” he said.

Mrs von Dadelszen with her husband, Sam, are Ballance shareholders who operate a 13,000 stock unit sheep and beef property and a 380 cow dairy farm near Takapau, in the central Hawke’s Bay.

She holds a Bachelor of Agriculture from Massey University and been actively involved in governance roles across the rural and energy sectors with the NZ Beef Council, Fonterra Shareholders Council, the  Agricultural and Marketing Research and Development Trust (AGMARDT) and Central Hawke’s Bay Consumer Power Trust.

Mrs von Dadelszen joins the board on 26 November, to complete the remainder of Mr Dean Nikora’s two year term, and will retire by rotation at the company Annual Meeting in 2016.
